Integrated Curriculum in SBE Context - Version 1

MAIN TOPIC1 - CONCEPT AND THEORIES

Introduction 

This main topic presents the key ideas about the integrated curriculum that the integrated curriculum is described as one that connects different areas of study by cutting across subject-matter lines and emphasizing unifying concepts. The integrated curriculum helps the students and teachers become more successful in the classroom. This curriculum helps the students to engage in relevant that is the activities which can be connected in their life and helps the teachers to create challenging, fun, meaningful tasks that help students connect to information.

Moreover, this main topic indicates the approach of integrated curriculum that consist to a Multidisciplinary approach which focuses primarily on the disciplines, an Interdisciplinary approach, teachers organize the curriculum around common learning across disciplines and a Transdisciplinary Integration, teachers organize curriculum around student questions and concerns. So, the three categories offer a starting point for understanding different approaches to integration.
